That is actually a common solution to a very frustrating problem.
Ova, most children are still wearing diapers at 2. My daughter was kind to me and potty trained by 20 months, but I've never known a child to stop much sooner than that.
When you are tired of cleaning up poo - you will try anything and duct tape is actually pretty common. I never had to resort to it, but did have one child who didn't fully potty train until 4 years old. Very frustrating.
Every child is different and potty trains when ready. Some are before two, some are two, three, etc... :)
It's a good thing DH doesn't read this, he's always looking for new uses for duct tape. Knowing him he'd put some on just because he can. No baby assisted diaper removals for us yet, let's hope it stays that way.

We actually had friends who did this to their 2 year old twins...scary huh...
Ok, I am going to be an ass here but a 2 yr old still wearing diapers?
But duct tape fixes everything! it really does!
Whole new use! I guess my father was right-- if you can't duct it-- F it.
Seriously?? I'm confused on a whole new level.
However, I'm sure it's because I have no children of my own. I wouldn't understand.
Where would we be w/o duct tape? Seriously?

Hey if it works...great.
Makes me think of that scene in Baby Boom when Diane Keaton used electrical tape to keep the diaper on.
